Child Having Cough Throughout The Night. Gasping For Breath. Negative For Whooping Cough. What Could It Be?

My baby girl is 11 mos old. She has had a cough for 4 weeks. in the begginning there was vomiting too. now its HORRID at night and she gasps for air and cant stop coughing alllll night long. It reminds me of an adult with pnuemonia or bronchitis. I have taken her to 2 drs 3 times. And the tests for whooping cough came back negative.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM.
Probably it is pneumonia.
Take one x-ray chest to rule out or confirm the diagnosis.
It may be bronchiolitis also.
If this is not the first attack then you may consider bronchial asthma.
Any way better consult pediatrician and take treatment without delay.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
Please feel free to ask any more queries.
Take care.
