Child Having Cough, Cold, High Fever. Prescribed Zyr Cold, Calpol. Throat Infection, Taking Antibiotic, Fever Recurring. Why?

Hi Doctor,
My child is 2 year 6 months old and she got cough and cold on 29th Oct. We took her to doctor and was prescribed 'zyr cold'. on 30th Evening, she caught fever and by night it went hit to 103.4 F. We gave her calpol 250, 4 ML in every 4 - 5 hours. on 31 Oct morning, we took her to doc again and he noticed infection in my kids throat. He then suggested Sumo MF, advent antibiotic and zry cold. We had followed the suggested but fever is still comming up over 102F in 3-4 hours.
Can you please suggest what I can do on this. Thanks in advance.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello
Fever should have not persisted for so long.
You can get done a throat swab ie with a sterile stick doctor will touch it on throat and will send for examination in which the organism causing the infection will be known and will be tested for the antibiotic it is sensitive to.
The antibiotic advent needs to be taken for 8days,if she has improved
In doubt do reply.
