Child Having Continuous Vomiting, Low Grade Fever, Rapid Heart Beats, No Diarrhea, Restlessness, Excessive Sleep, No Fluid Retention. What Could It Be?

My 4 year old son has vomited 5 times in the last 16 hours. Also, low-grade fever , rapid heart beat, no diarrhea . Just generally not feeling well. Restlessness but when he falls asleep, sleeps for long periods. Not able to hold down fluids yet his urine output is normal. It doesn t seem like a typical virus. Do you have any suggestions?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Your child seems to have gastritis mostly due to a virus.
You can give one antiemetic like ondansetron in prescribed dose.
And start giving oral rehydration solutions like Pedialyte, coconut water, lemon water.
Monitor his hydration by his activity, urine output, moisture of tongue.
Consult your Pediatrician for further assessment and for the specific treatment.
Hope I have answered your query.
