Child Have Fever, Cough And Rash. Had A Tick Bite Earlier. All Test Done. What To Do?

My daughter has had a tick bite recently and a cough/cold virus at the same time! She had fever 102 plus vomiting and aching legs and neck and a rash around tick bite area. We went to pediatrician who tested for mono and strep but both negative. She was off school for a week. We were doing well but an insect bite which seemed to get fluid filled after a day spread to her other leg so I put hydrocortisone cream on and then a plaster to stop her scratching. I have been putting on more and more as they seem to be multiplying now and using antibiotic plasters now. The fluid seems to burst and leave an open sore with each new "bite" mark

There are some infectious diseases which are caused by tick bites.

They are like rickettsial and Lyme diseases.

As there is rash around the bite area and associated fever, rash, neck and leg pains I would like to look for Lyme disease also.

Consult your pediatrician again for reexamination of the child and for further management.
