Child Has Yellowish Discharge From Ear, Had PE Tubes Done In The Recent Past. Ear Infection?

My son will be 2 yrs nxt weekend. He had PE tubes done back in March 12. All this week he has had yellowish/ brown discharge from his ear. should I be concerned about an ear infection? Or is it just the tubes doing their job? he has not had no other symptoms. Just scratches that specific ear a lot since it started draining.

Hi,
If it is new occurence and the discharge is yellowish or brown,it is better to get back to your doctor.A brown discharge shows altered blood. It is better to rule out fresh infection and he may need a culture and reassessment.
All the best
