Child Has Vomiting And Coughing. Reason? Treatment?

My son is 2 yrs 10 months old and has been vomitting in the morning n at times in nite. He coughs before puking or makes sounds as if sumthing is coming out of his belly before puking. And whatever he brings out of his mouth it usually has water kind (when adults hv during acidity). What can be the reason and what can be given to him. We are travelling next week so would like to carry medicine for him. Currently I am in Denmark.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Gastro esophageal reflux can some times cause recurrent vomiting. It may be associated with watering of mouth.

Some times severe cough may be responsible for vomiting. But if cough occurs only before vomiting it is likely to be because of GERD.

A endoscopy and lower esophageal pH monitoring may help in diagnosis.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Cough ends in vomiting in most children
Reflux is often a silent cause of cough and/or vomiting...
The only option is to see the child specialist - appropriate treatment needs proper diagnosis...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
