Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my daughter is 2 1/2 years old and for about 6 months now she has been complaining about her belly hurting. She can be in the middle of playing and she will stop and tell me her belly hurts. I asked the Dr and they said she was getting too much dairy so we limited her dairy throughout the day but it was still happening. We then switched her to a lactose free diet that we have been on for about a month if not a little longer and she is still having these issues. She also vomits if she gets herself worked up too much or if she smells something bad. I am tired of her Dr telling me it is nothing to be concerned about because I know she is hurting. PLEASE HELP.....
Hi melinda,
Food allergy is one of the known causes for abdominal pain and vomiting.
Instead of stopping the dairy 'change the brand of milk and see. Also see whether it is relatedto any particular food, juice ,jelly etcbecause food colours, preservatives can cause allergy like this.Keep a diary and note what she took the day she had pain otherwise we cannot relate.
If latose free has not helped the diagnosis may be wrong.
I can understand your concern as a mother but at the same time be happy that she has nothing major worry about!
