Child Has Stomach Pain, Vomiting, Watery Stool. What Should I Do?

My 2 year old has been complaining of stomach pain off and on for about a week. I took him to the emergency room about 2 weeks ago because he vomited with a watery stool as well. He hasn t complained all week up until yesterday. He vomited and had a loose smelly stool. I m concerned about this being a serious medical condition what should I do?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Your child is having Gastroenteritis mostly due to virus and it is not a serious medical condition.
Give sips of oral rehydrating solutions to prevent dehydration and you can give antiemetic like ondansetron in prescribed dosage to control vomitings.
Consult your Pediatrician for further management.
Hope i have answered your query.

Hi
Thanks for your query
Your son is having gastroenteritis.his pain abdomen is due to infection.
I advise you to give oral rehydration solution after each loose stool.give coconut water.curd.banana.boiled potato. Also give lactobaccilus for 3 to 4 days.
In case symptoms do not subside take him to your pediatrician .

Wishing your son good health.
God bless.

Thanku for your query,
Well I understand your concern ,according to me it seems your baby is having gastroenteritis .it is mostly viral .but as it is a repeated infection you need to get a stool routine done to rule out some parasitic or bacterial involvement.
For gastroenteritis u need to keep baby properly hydrated with ors and fluids .avoid giving milk and juices for few days .give soft diet easily digest able ,also give some probiotics for 3 to 5 days and zinc supplementation for 10 to 15days.
Do remember to do deworming once baby gets well .
I hope I answered your query
God bless
