Child Has Red Spot On Urinary Meatus, Sore And Stings To Urinate

My 9 yr old son went to the beach today and now has a red spot on his urinary meatus . He complains of it being sore when clothes touch it and stings a bit when urinating. He says on a scale of 1-10 it hurts a 3 when clothes touch it. We are on vacation. Is there something over the counter I can purchase or should I take him to ER. He is my only child so this is an obstacle I have no idea about.

Hi, you should take him to ER, get the pants without zip to avoid injury, take plenty of water and good hygienic care, meatal boils or sores may be due to infectious agents such as syphillus, streptococcal infection, also get your child circumcribed to avoid future complications get well soon
