Child Has Red Rash On Palms Of Hands, Itching, No Fever. What Is This?

My daughter is 22 months old. 1 week ago the palms of her hands atarted to have a bright red, blotchy rash on them. She is having a hard time sleeping, she keeps rubbing her hands and scratching her palms. Otherwise she seems to feel fine--no fever . Do you know what this could be? I m using the Benadryl cream but it doesn t help at all. Thanks!

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

It looks like an allergy to soap or hand wash.

Needs antihistamine by mouth.

Local benadryl usually does not work in such conditions.

Regards
