Pediatrician, Surgery 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
What surgery has your child been through? If it was an open surgery for removal then child may be on ventilators for prolonged periods as the child requires some time to require from the surgery. If just a scope was put in an the peanut was removed then it is likely the child has a hyper-reactive airway, which has been worsened by a foriegn body staying there for a long time. In any case you should consult your doctor for these details. But you should stop worrying. Hopefully your child will come out of ventilator pretty soon.
God bless you

Hi
I appreciate your concern.
Relax your brother will be fine.
It takes some time for lungs to heal.as it depends upon extent of injury caused by foreign body, mode of treatment adopted to take foreign body.any underlying disease process.

Discuss all this with your treating doctor he will surely guide you.
Your brother will be off the ventilator soon
God bless,

Pediatrician, Neonatology Dr. Uma Rajah Ananth's  Response
Hi,
If the problem is due to peanut alone,he should recover well after removing it.
If he is on ventilator, there may be some other problem like collapse of one lung.
please discuss with the treating doctor!Ask them your doubts.
God bless
