Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Premature children tend to get more infections and have to be treated. As their air passages are small any chest infection tends to reduce them further for which nebulizer is being given.

Just ensure a comfortable environment for your child. See that he is not over clothted which may be the reason for his excessive crying. In case he does not become comfortable with this management then it is always better to seek an expert's opinion.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.

Pediatrician Dr. E Venkata Ramana's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Frequent chest infections in this age group are suggestive of an underlying problem like cardiac or lung problem.

Was he having any respiratory problem after birth which was requiring artificial ventilation?

Respiratory distress syndrome will prone preterm to the development of chronic lung disease which presents with frequent respiratory distress and infections.

Continue the medication and be in regular follow up with the pediatrician.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
