Hi,
Thanks for placing your query through HCM.
I can appreciate your concerns.
Your doctor appears to be correct in suspecting viral illness.
Allergy testing is unlikely to be helpful.
Instead, you should see a ENT specialist to rule out chronic sinusitis.
Regarding swimming lessons, you should follow ENT doctors advice.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wish her a good health.

Pediatrician Dr. Rajiv K Khandelwal's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Swimming does not give rise to fever and stuffy nose. As it has happened for the fourth time this month it is better to get her investigated. A simple haemogram will tell us if it is viral or bacterial. Secondly ensure that she has a good nutritious diet so that her immunity is built. If this phenomenon of fever persists then only we will consider getting an allergy test done.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Pediatrician Dr. Himanshi Kashyap's  Response
Hi,

Your 7 yrs old daughter is suffering from Allergic Rhinitis and water in the swimming pool triggers infection.

I would advise you to get her examined and get her treated for Allergic rhinitis first .Also get her examined by an ENT specialist who could also rule out sinusitis since there is bad odour too.

Once she is controlled then she could resume her swimming.

Bye
