Although he is well ahead in all other milestones. Last week he started his preschool and his teachers are complaining that he tries to communicate but as teachers are unable to understand him properly so due to frustration he is becoming violent. He knows his colors, counting 1-10, shapes and dialogues of his favorite characters like Wiggles but does not like to communicate all the time. please help us out.

Pediatrician 's  Response
It is not rare for a child to develop well in other areas but struggle with speaking. Does he have enough stimulation at home? Does he stay with a nanny most of the time? Usually these kids develop their language fast after they start preschool. What you should do at home is treat this with patience. If you push it too far, you can make this worse than it is. Talk to the teachers about this too. Patience is the key, do not lose your temper in front of the kid regarding to this problem. It is likely that in six months your child will not have this problem if you handle it well.
