Child Has Cough, Fever. Had Tonsillitis. What Can Be Done Now?

Since the age of 4 my daughter was always sick...as a result she ended up getting her tonsils taken out at 5 and at right after she started spinking fevers...a few months later she turned 6 and it is still going on, and now she has a horrible cough ...right now her fever is 101.5...I don t know what it could be...but I know I am going to have to take her back to the doctor again....

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Thanks for considering H.C.M.regarding medical query.

After reading your complaints I came to know that your child is having chronic pharyngitis may be associated with sinusitis etc. Though her tonsils had been removed but if any other infective focus in upper respiratory tract is left than there are always chances of recurrent pharyngitis and this will again produce severe cough.

so now you should do-

1- X-Ray Paranasal sinuses.

2- X- Ray chest (PA View).

3- Blood - CBC, ESR, blood sugar ( F & PP ).

4- ASO titre.

After this much work a thorough examination and clinical co-relation with investigations will disclose the diagnosis that will accordingly manage.

Regards.
