Child Has Bald Patch On Scalp At The Base Of Neck. Diagnosed As Alopecia Areata. Suggestions?
My daughter 12 yrs old has a bald patch on the back of her head near the base of her neck.We went to dermotologist and he said alopecea areata. I have been freaking out this entire week. We have started a steroid cream. I'm so scared that this is gong to get worse. ALL I can think about is my daughter losing all her hair. I feel so sick. She does have low vit D...I started her on a supplement and just purchased a vitamin for hair, skin, nails.....we think the patch has been therefor about two weeks. Right now her spot is hidden, but I'm so afraid she will wake up with a bald spot on top of head. She has fine hair so it would be hard to hide. I guess I'm wondering the liklihood of another one appearing...so scared, stressed, anxious....all I see is nightmare stories on the internet...please help

Hi bald patch over the neck region is called alopecia areata.aa in children as good prognosis.use of closol cream in the morning and folica hair tincture in the night.and use of biotin supplementation can cure it.if response go for intralesional steriods once in fortnight until response is seen.tacrolimus works well in children
