Child Has Asthma. Taking Augmentin For Flu Virus. Coughing Continuously. What To Do?

Good Morning,

My 5 year old daughter who is already proned to Asthma has contracted a very serious flu virus as of 1st July. At this time she's on Augmentin ES 5 ml twice a day, Predcort Ds from 7.5 ml twice a day for 3 days to 5 ml, once per day for 2 days and using the nebuliser 3/4 ml ventolin and 3/4 saline solution.

Yesterday and all of last night she continously coughed. As at 4 a.m. today, I have nebulised her with Ventolin & Saline and given her the 5 ml of Precort 4 hour earlier that it was due. What should I do?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Continue the medication as prescribed.

Precort should be used as per scheduled timing and there is no need to give before the time of schedule as it is a steroid.

If coughing is excessive, give frequent nebulization like once in every 6 hours.

Consult the doctor if cough is not responding or there is difficulty in respirations.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Allergist and Immunologist Dr. Suman Kumar's  Response
the medicines are okay you can add codeine+cpm cough syp to reduce cough reflex
but this is not answer
apply milk theory
a child need only breast milk for 2 years and no milk after that and wen we add mik and diary proteinschildstart getting various diseases including asthma and other immunity related disorders
as milk is animal protein and animal proteins are not competible with human proteins
you withdraw milk and diary completely from diet and child will start recovering in few wk
and there will be no recurence
till then control with the sympatomatic therapy
