No one else in the house has been sick
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Your child is having viral illness with Gastroenteritis.
The hives may be due to allergic reaction of the skin. Nothing to worry just you can apply calamine lotion externally.
Maintain his hydration by giving sips of oral rehydration solutions and maintain his nutrition by giving balanced diet as repeated or prolonged diarrhea will lead to loss of weight.
Consult your Pediatrician if the problems still persist for basic evaluation.
Hope i have answered your query.
The description provided by you suggests gastroenteritis. If it is occurring every week then you need to check the source of water supply as that may be the cause.
I suggest that you get your son's stool examination done and give him medicine accordingly after consulting the treating doctor. Also ensure that he has plenty of liquids so that he does not get dehydrated.
I hope I have anwered your query to your satisfaction.
