Child Got Viral Infection, Fever, Running Nose. Now Has Sore Leg, Can't Bear Any Weight, Leg Pain. Problem?

Hi, my son of 23 months has just had a viral infection with fevers runny nose , cough and tongue ulcers. It started on wednesday with him vomiting once during the day then the fever came during the night. Yesterday he presented with a sore right leg and he cant bear any weight on it. He is much happier in himself and able to eat again as of yesterday but this leg pain is constant. He is crawling as when he puts any weight on his leg he lifts his heel, and keeps his knee bent. The dr said its caused by the virus. i am wondering should i be worried, and how long will this pain last? Does he need blood tests?
Thanks

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Your child seems viral illness with arthralgia or a myalgia which indicates involvement of muscle or a joint.

Continue the medication as advised by the pediatrician.

For fever and pain, you can give Tylenol in prescribed dose.

The pain usually lasts for 2 to 3 days.

If the fever is not coming down or the pain is persisting consult the doctor again for reexamination and investigations if required.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
