Thanks for your query.
Your child is having diarrhea which is mostly viral in nature and takes few days to settle.
most important is to maintain hydration.
you should not do any self medication.
Give oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stool, give coconut water, lemonade, curd, boiled potato, apple puree, mashed banana.
Give lactobaccilus sachet for 2 to 3 days and zinc for 14 days after consulting your pediatrician.

Watch for features of dehydration like decreased urine output/lethargy/increased thirst and in case you observe any get him evaluated by pediatrician.

Wishing your baby good health.
God bless,

Pediatrician Dr. Himanshi Kashyap's  Response
It was constipation when he was passing in every 2days not now when the motion frequency is 15-18. I think he might be suffering from some viral infection .Keep him well hydrated and restrict milk instead give him curds. Also you can give him a probiotic if doesnot improve and starts to vomit or gets fever then get him evaluated by his docter.

Hi Vikram,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Your child is passing frequent stools is due to acute gastroenteritis mostly of a viral cause.
It is not due to constipation.
Constipation is passing hard stools and passing of stools infrequently.
Stop giving the syrup given for constipation.
Maintain his hydration by giving sips of oral rehydrtion solutions like Pedialyte, coconut water to prevent dehydration.
Monitor his hydration by activity, urine output and the skin turgor.
Probiotic like lactobacillus or saccharomyces can be added after the consultation with the Pediatrician.
Consult the Pediatrician for the assessment and for the treatment.
Hope I have answered your query.
