Child Fell & Hurt The Temple On The Asphalt. There Is An Imprint On The Face. Head Hurts Even After Icing. Treatment?

My 7 yr old was playing basketball and collided with someone else resulting in him falling and hitting his temple on the asphalt. The force of impact left an imprint of the asphalt in the side of his face. He is saying that his head hurts really bad even after icing for an hour. Should I take him to the ER or just monitor him at home?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
When your child collided with another one ,the force was in full swing.
There was not a direct hit at the head.
Due to this collision little child fell over asphalt and got injury means no direct hit.
So due to this there may be pain and ice pack will give some relief.
Rest and a sleep will provide complete cure.
After sleep child will come out from trauma's stress ( this is a natural phenomena).
In my opinion consultation to a doctor is not necessary.
Hope I have answered your query.
If further any question I will help.
Good wishes for little one.
