Child Complaining Of Backpain. Has Diarrhoea. What Could It Be?

My 3 year old son has been complaining of back pain for the past month. He has a way of making things up together what he wants so we really did not make much if it at first. However, today he started to cry went diarrhea and complained of back pain. What could it be and what should I cohere at home in the meantime until I get him to see his doctor?

Thanks for your query.
In kids back pain is not a common complaint.
More often it is non specific and related to poor posture or undiagnosed muscle sprain from a minor fall or tripping over.
But in nearly half of kids a specific or serious cause will be found.
Pain that occurs on a daily basis, worsening, wakes him from sleep, associated with fever are some of the warning features.
He needs a detailed physical examination & certain tests like CBC,CRP,ESR & MRI spine.
Hope you found the information useful.
