Pediatrician, Cardiology Dr. Pradeep Kumar Jain's  Response
Hello
As he is afebrile for last 3-4 days, it suggests that he is responding to medication.
You can give him everything. Right from rice, chapati, daal, milk, fruits, vegetables etc. which he was getting before illness.
Give high calorie containing frequent meals as this will help in early recovery.

Ophthalmologist Dr. Khushbu Bhattad's  Response
hello,
welcome to HCM
typhoid is intestinal infection causing loss of protein and glycogen reserves and disturbed fluid balance.
patient is very ill and anorexic, a high energy, high protein, full fluid diet is recommended in the beginning.
Small meals are given at frequent intervals of 2 to 3 hours.
Sufficient intake of fluids and salts should be ensured.
Generally in this condition, avoid the whole grain, rice and other solid foods because they give pressure on your digestive system.
The diet principles to follow are to keep up a high calorie intake with plenty of carbohydrate. A post typhoid diet should include a low fiber soft diet as:-
Fruit juices with glucose
Coconut water
Rice kanjee
Rava
Milk,
Custards
Fruit milk shake
Thin dhal, eggs
Soft cooked fish and chicken
Mashed potato and other soft cooked vegetables
Fruits like banana
butter milk
need to drink 1000-2000 ml water every day.

Foods to avoid-Fat intake has to be as low as possible so that we do not put extra burden on the digestive process. Foods to be strictly avoided are:-

Butter
Ghee
Vegetable oil
Chilies
Spices
All irritating fibers occurring in foods
Rich pastries
Fried snacks
Desserts
Thick cream soups
high fiber foods like whole grains and raw vegetables
avoid vegetables like cabbage, capsicum

take care,i hope i answered your query
you can ask future queries
