Child. Fever, Cold With Phelgm. Prescribed Medication And Cold Water Bath. Right Treatment?

My kid is suffering from phlegm and when he was bathed, he suddenly infected with cold and fever. Then very recently we consulted a MBBS doctor who is suggesting a different type of treatment. He gave some medicines (Azee 250,i.e. Azithromyvcin, Fextor -120,Exofenadine hydrocloride, hydrocloride BP, and another pill caoted with red and black coat and a very small oval shape tablet. Thyen he asked to bath my child every day from cold water and not to stop bathing though he is having cold. Is his advice correct and should I follow it, Bec several people who have got treatments from him have cured their phlegm condition

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

The medication you mentioned can be given in children with upper respiratory tract infection with cold and fever.

You can continue the medication in prescribed dose.

It is very difficult to identify the pill content with your description, so very difficult to comment on the drug without knowing it.

Coming to bathing in cold water, I don't know the use of it and it is not mentioned in allopathic medicine.

I advise you to consult the qualified pediatrician for his phlegm to rule out for hyper reactive airway problems.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Pediatrician Dr. Y V Siva Sankara Murty's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

It is difficult to comment on a pill based on the color and shape and one should have the composition of the tablet to comment on it.

Cold water bath produces heat stress. There could be loss of body heat resulting in hypothermia in a child who is already stressed with infections.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
