Child. Cold, Cough, Fever. Loose Motion After Taking Paracetamol, Cetrizine And Asthalin. Serious?

Hi doctor,
My son is 5 years old. He suffered from cold and cough for last one week. Suddenly last night he had fever. He is having problem of tonsils and adenoid. Last night he was snoring and didn't had good sleep. Today we went to doctor and he gave asthalin, paracetamal and cetrizin. But after came back from hospital he got loose motion. His stool is watery and coming like urine and with sound. What may be the reason? it is anything very emergency? what medicine can i give? please help me.It is very urgent

hi,
in children diarrhea is serious, kindly see your doctor urgently. meanwhile give ORS fluid to him as much as he want. if his breathing is getting fast then its emergency, as infection has gone down.

I can understand you concern. If you son started watery stool after using the medicine so cetirizine has the side effect of diarrhea. you don't need to worry. The Medicine he prescribed is for Allergy , fever.
As he is having tonsillitis ,adenoid , fever and now with loose motion. you should add antibiotics and bring bit changes in has Medicine.

Probiotics
syp Cefixime ( Antibiotics )
ORS ( Oral hydration salts)
syp Zinc
paracetamol.

You should watch for has hydration level , don't let him get DE-hydrated by randomly giving him ORS after every loose motion and do not forget to RE-VISIT your pediatrician for re-examining your son.

relax and donot worry

moniter his mental status

if he develop vomiting ,abnormal bahaviour or fits then see your doctor

give him ibuprufen in case of pain or fever
