Chicken Pox, Given Overdose Of Piriton Syrup, Itchy Skin

My 3 year old daughter has chicken pox and I decided to give her piriton syrup for the 1st time tonight when she woke up crying due to itchy skin. I gave her 15 ml piriton syrup instead of 2.5 ml because I read the maximum daily dosis collumm by mistake. Extremely worried tried to ring NHS direct, but they have 4 hour wait for a call back. Please let me know if I need to worry about this being an overdoes.

Hi,

Welcome to healthcaremagic.

Well, 15 ml is a high dose but not high enough to cause serious complications.

Need not worry just watch your baby for few hours as , such dose can cause sedation where baby may sleep rather do not harm by any other way.

Do visit the doctor as soon as it is possible to.

Wish you good health.
