My 48 year old son had his tonsils out on aug 26. He had fever and pain in chest the next day. Wheat to emergency. They said chest X-ray was normal. Checked for blood clots and sent h home. The next morning called and said radiologist wanted him on antibotics. Started them on Wednesday. Fever is gone. But chest still hurts. Sometime feeling if heaviness. EKG was normal. Dr is eye ear nose. Souls he see another dr and what kind. Or should he wait for symptoms to go away? What could be causing chest discomfort?

General & Family Physician Dr. Ramesh M.Vachharajani's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that your son might be having some bacterial infection in the lungs or having pneumonia givng rise to fever and chest pain.
As fever is alright, continue with antibiotics, gradually after infection cures, he wil be alright.
Give him light diet.
Ok and take care.

ENT Specialist Dr. Hariom Sharma's  Response
Hi,
I had gone through your query, as you described that EKG and Chest X ray within normal limit , then it is no need to worry , your son should wait for symptoms to go away. Minor infection in the chest may be responsible for this complain . Your son is on antibiotic and improving , thats good . Faith on your doctor and continue the treatment according to your doctor.

Wish you good health
