I've had a very sudden onset of chest coughing, congestion, and at first very little mucous being coughed up. Sometimes coughing so hard a streak of blood, as if my throat had been cut may be mixed in with yellow/green mucous. About 50% of time mucous is clear; 50% green; a rarely a streak of blood. This went on for 3 days; on 4th day a sinus cold developed. Have used a nettie pot rinse bringing relief to sinuses/nostrils when they get stuffed and am now on 2nd day of Mucinex (600mg guaifenesin extended release bi-layer tablets). Should I wait this out a few more days or should I see a Dr. asap?
