Chalazion Under Eyelid. On Oral Antibiotics, Popped Suddenly, Fluid Discharge. Continue Steroid Cream Usage?

I have a large chalazion (and a small one) under my left eyelid . I was scheuled for removal surgery, and have been taking an oral antibiotic , and applying a seroid cream. however, This morning, It popped by itself. I washed it out immediately and thoroughly. There are no more fluids being released at this point (that I noticed). IS this an emergency? Do I still apply the steroid cream? Please advise?
