Hi,
From history it seems that due to chronic blood loss from some part of her GI tract giving rise low hemoglobin.
Iron medicine does give rise to black stool but as you told this never happened before.
Go for ultra sound abdomen and find out the cause of blood loss.
Ok and take care.

I have had dark, almost black stools for 3 days now and last night night while getting up to use the restroom I got extremely dizzy and had to lay down immediately so I would not faint. This morning I have also experienced a couple of head rushes of dizziness.

I was sitting on the toilet, had a large amount but normal BM, then was getting in the shower... Felt I had to go agin, sat down & went.... Then all of sudden I had severe sweats, vomiting, and left side ab pains... So I could not sit on the toilet but I could not stop going BM... But not runny stools or anything. I just had to lay down or I was dizzy and vomiting. Then my arms went stiff and hands curled up, all this happend in seconds.. Minutes. My husband cleaned me up, and then my hands got movement back and I was relaxed once all was out of me from both ends!!! I have had this happen 3 times, this was the worse and I went to the hospital. But in the past they weren t as severe episodes.... We thought they were food poisoning ?? Now the docs think I have a small intestine infection....What do you all think?

Hi I m 15, about 5 8 and about 120 pounds and I m otherwise a generally healthy person. I am writing to ask about something very odd that just happened to me. So lately I ve been having loose stools at least twice a day. This has been happening since I got back from my vacation (I didn t go anywhere exotic so that s not the problem) so it s been about 4 days. Then today I woke up and I had to go to the bathroom and I had the same loose stools. But this time it felt like even though I was done it felt like more was to come. Towards the end of it I began to get dizzy and lightheaded and eventually started to blackout so I laid down right on the bathroom floor. I had no strength to get up or I felt I would pass out. When I felt ready I got up and started to black out again after I got up but I made it to my bed to lie down just barely. My limbs felt literally like jello and throughout this whole incident I was sweating profusely, but it s not hot in my house. What could be the problem here?

I am a 23 year old female, 130lbs, and am in what I consider to be good health. I have had frequent nosebleeds since a very young age (probably started at around 13yrs). I have been tested, on numerous occasions, for anemia and iron deficiency, with no sign of either condition. For the last year I have been experiencing an increase in nosebleed frequency, accompanied by lightheadedness and often nausea as well. These symptoms are most frequent in the morning, but also occur at other hours of the day. If I am tired or up late, I was almost always have a nosebleed. They do not last near as long as they did when I was younger (only a few minutes) but the headache and nausea will often persist for a few hours, sometimes a full day. I have mentioned these problems to numerous physicians, with no solution offered other than cauterizing the internal nose tissue. I feel that this solution is not adequate, as it would only address one symptom, rather than the unknown cause. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I have been feeling light headed every morning now soon after I wake up while i am preparing breakfast and it stays fir about hours then I am fine. I am 36 yrs old female, 5 ft 6 weighs about 145 lb. I have anemia/ low iron level. this is a condition that I have had all my life and was doing fine all the past years. Its Mediterranean Anemia since i am originally from the middle east. My doctor had me do a blood test recently and my iron level was lower than my normal. I have been taking iron supplements for about 2 weeks now, also vitamin A , C, D, B50 complex. I take all these supplements in the morning after breakfast except for iron & vitamin C i take them mid day. So any ideas why I feel light headed in the morning?
