Hi,
Firstly, forget about heart attack. The reason somebody may have suggested it to you may be because of the hypercoagulability issue. It is a clotting disorder because of which there is reduced frequency of periods and also heart attacks can occur at young age.But ,it is very rare and can almost be counted as non existent.More common causes need to be ruled out first.Anemia and thyroid disorders are the most common causes for irregular periods.Polycystic ovarian disease is another cause,In your case it is secondary amenorrhoea. The most common cause for this is pregnancy, but as you are a virgin, this is ruled out automatically.Do a complete blood count, thyroid function test, clotting tests and USG abdomen which would detect any structural abnormality if it exists.A course of progesterone mat just be sufficient to solve your problem and for you to get your periods.

I don't know who in the world told you that if you didn't get a period you could have heart attack. NO WAY, NO HOW. So get calm. If that were the cae all perimenopausal women would be dead. You don't even want to hear what I have been going through and I'm almost 53.

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK. You are still very young and your body just may not be adjusted as of yet. If your family has a doctor, if your worried go see them. Or talk to a adult you trust, Mom, Aunt, Whoever.

But not getting your period will not result in a heart attack. Wait until you get to my point in life. LOL

You will have plenty to worry about. But for you at 16 not for another 30 years. Take Care.

IF SOMEONE GOES FOR ONE YEAR WITHOUT HAVING A PERIOD AFTER ATTAINING MENARCHY OBVIOUSLY IT HAS TO BE EVALUATED IN DETAIL, I WOULD SUGGEST TO GET EVALUATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, THE COMMON CAUSES OF AMENORRHEA ARE PREGNANCY, PCOD, CNS CAUSES LIKE HPO AXIS SUPPRESSION, SYNDROMES LIKE TURNER, KALLMAN, MULLERIAN AGENESIS.
THIS CANNOT BE NEGLECTED FOR SURE, AND I WOULD THINK OF A POSSIBLE PCOD IN YOUR CASE. KINDLY GET EVALUATED BY DOING A ULTRASOUND ABDOMEN AND FSH AND LH LEVELS.
