Cause For Frequent Sore Throat Along With Swelling?

I ve been having a problem for the past 8 months. i ll have a sore throat, that feels like needle pricks near my tonsils. it goes away, then comes back. i was given amoxicillin the first time, then a stronger antibiotic the last time, which was a few weeks ago. it comes and goes, small flesh colored bumps in the back of my throat. my tonsils are swollen and bumpy. my doctor said that it was abnormal, i haven t had a chance to see an ent yet. i was wondering could this be due to my tonsils, or could it be sexually transmitted?

I understand your concern and your throat problem is most likely due to chronic tonsillitis with acute exacerbation. But one can't rule out second possibility as you said about sexually transmitted disease especially in oral sex. for this thorough examination of genitals & oral cavity is must along with blood investigations like V.D.R.L..

It will be better to consult ENT doctor for examination and treatment. Because chronic tonsillitis case are prone to get staph infection and that is well known for complications in Heart, Kidney and joints.
