Cause For Black Patches & Its Treatment

My mother has black patches on her face .It has been more than a year now. She had done chemical peeling as per the doctor s suggestion but it worsened. At present she is not using any medication to treat it.She used to have completely normal skin before. I would like to know what is the cause for this and if there is any treatment possible.

HI.
There are many conditions that may cause black patches on the face. Melasma is one of the most common causes and I think your mother has that only. Chemical peeling is usually a good choice, but it may go wrong if not done properly. Your mother may try a sunblock cream three times daily and demelan cream at night. See a good dermatologist for further advise.
