Can you treat a mild heart attack yourself ?

Tuesday evening, I suffered a mild heart attack (pain in left upper chest radiating down arm and leg, breathless, dizziness and nausea ). I say mild because I did not pass out or flop around on the ground. I cannot afford medical treatment so I want to treat this at home with home remedies, plus I do not want any family members to know. I know aspirin is one and I took one immediately during the attack and have taken one every morning after. The pain in the left chest has not gone away yet and I am still breathless and fatigued with physical activity but the pains in my arm and leg have subsided and the nausea is gone. I have a lot of things to do this week and need to start feeling better. What are some home remedies besides aspirin that will relieve the symptoms? The ER will treat the emergency and then refer me to a physican who wants cash to treat the heart disease ... Cash at time of visit. I survived the emergency and can t see what else the ER will be able to do for me. I am monitering myself for any physical changes that would indicate something that would require me to give in and go to the ER. I already began the regiment of aspirin. I just wanted to know of any ideas to rid the breathless, fatigue and chest pain .

My father died of a sudden heart attack in his home. I cannot get over this regret I am feeling ? I should have gotten him LIFE ALERT and he could have pressed it and been saved. He was 76 years old. He had several health problems including diabetes (controlled), hypertension (controlled), stage 4 kidney disease, and atrial fibrillation (controlled by digoxin). He had two strokes in the past, the last being 12 years ago, which paralyzed his left side, but he got some of it back and could walk with a cane. He also had a mild heart attack about 15 years ago, which was treated with balloon angioplasty. I wanted him to enjoy his final years, so I let him drive, and do his own things, etc. I am VERY REGRETFUL that I did not get him LIFE ALERT (or another similar product). I realize that sometimes when people have a heart attack, they do not know it, and cannot press the button, but I am still very regretful over this. I don t know how I am ever going to forgive myself for this. please help! Thank you everybody, you are very helpful. God Bless You all. Just for the record, he was found on the kitchen floor in the sitting position (on his bottom), with his knees bent, feet flat on the floor, and his head slumped down to his chest. One arm had an abrasion on it on the upper side of the forearm , as if he may have nicked it against the table or chair that he was near.

I had this morning what may have been a possible mild heart attack. Paramedics were called but they did not feel that is was neccessary for me to go to the hospital. They did however say I needed to go to my Dr. and get checked. Symptoms were a very strong pain in my chest, as if a balloon was filling up and about to burst, along with sweating and much light-headedness and pain in the right side of my mouth that felt like a toothache. I can not get into my Dr. for a couple of days. Is it safe to wait a few days? Suggestions needed, my family is freaking out. Since this morning the light-headedness lasted about another 3 hours or so, and now I am getting a very bad headache, dont know if it is related or not. If I were to take myself to the emergency room at this point wouldnt it be a waste of time? Better to just wait and see my Dr. in a couple of days? pay no mind to the picture, I am actually posting this for my mom, these are her words, I just cut and pasted them for her. She in 49 years old. the paramedics did say her blood presure was high. they also hooked her up to a machine, the results did not indicate she needed to go to the ER. They simply said it was possible a mild heart attack, and sugested she see her Dr, asap. Her Dr could not get her in today... just a bit more info

Hello Doctor, My name is Careyanne Johnson I am a 21 year old female. I am growing concerned with my well being because I have been experiencing some foreign symptoms. Starting with today the right side of my mouth has been partially numb for going on several hours now & I am having throbbing headache that comes and goes behind the back of my lower head & temples. Just a couple days ago my toes (on the right side again) were numb as well. I have also been having sharp, deep chest pains for a few months now. At first I thought it could maybe be heart burn but realized it is a much different ache. I think its safe to say the chest pains have grown more frequent because I m counting them every day now instead of once or twice a week. The only other symptoms I can think of is my ears will ring every now and then but still more so then I would think is normal. & I feel like I have poor circulation to my legs cause sometimes they feel stiff, however I also have a job where I stand without sitting for up to 8 hours a day. I have had Health issues in the past where I would become very light headed, my vision would go black, and I sometimes would faint. the fainting spells never lasted more then 5 mins. I was only unconscious for 30 seconds to 1 min. I have seen a neurologist and he conducted many tests, an MRI or brain scan being one of them. My results were all negative. The dr. did refer me to a cardiologist that I never went to. My fear is I may have a stroke or heart attack please help!

43 year old female, normal weight in good health. .Total hysterectomy done Dec. 2010, benign ovarian mass; 2 weeks after episode of PSVT, then next week chest pain and spasms. 1 episode of tachycardia of 140's bpm sustained for 1 hour. Preop ekg normal and new ekgs show slight t wave changes. Checked for PE, CT clear and lower ultrasound clear. ECHO 67% EF, normal nuclear and treadmill stress test, normal cardiac cath, carotid us. TSH was 5.4 at the beginning of Jan. but returned to 2.3 2 wks later. Taking Cartia 120 mg once daily and Metoprol 12.5 bid. Sent to cardio EP, who states that condition is due to low sodium levels and advised to up sodium. Sodium levels taken 3xs over this period have been between 133 -135. Intermittent slight chest pain continues, returning to work next week. Primary care does not believe it is due to low sodium levels, doing 24 hr osmality and sodium tests. Is there anything else we should look for?
