I have been having pain on my left side. It goes to my back sometimes and I have cramps. The ones I used to get when I was having my period. I am 61 years old. Can you get ovarian cysts after menopause, or do I have kidney stones. This has happened before and usually last for 3 days and then goes away, but this time it has been over a week. It feels like a have a big bubble in my side sometimes.
Ovarian cycts are hormone dependant, and usually subside once menopause is attained, but the pain you are experiencing could be attributed to a pre-existing cyst.
Pain from kidney stones is located on one side, is more towards the lower back region, and radiates upwards or downwards on the back itself. Also at times presenting with burning micturation, blood in the urine, etc.
Best wishes.
