Please explain my blood results line by line in plain simple words -
calcium 9.8 mg/dl
pth, intact 38 pg/ml

Intact PTH in relation to Calcium intact PTH Calcium
normal parathyroid function Normal Normal
Hypoparathyroidism Low or Low normal Low
Primary Hyperparathyroidism Normal or High High
Secondary Hyperparathyroidism High normal of Low
tertiary Hyperparathyroidism High High
Non-parathyroid Hypercalcemia Low or low normal High

Hi and thanks for the query,

the blood tests investigate thyroid and parathyroid function, which due the fact that they produce hormones that control calcium blood levels are measured together. the blood calcium level is actually within normal limits
The thyroid and parathyroid hormone levels are also within normal limits.

Depending on your past history and clinical evaluation results before these tests were asked, conclusions and further testing or recommendations could then be made.
