Can You Drink Alcohol While On Toprol Xl ?
Is it ok to drink a beer while on Toprolxl ? I only take a half of a 25mg have for 2years!!I m 29 year old female had high blood pressure the highest it is now is 127/75

No you should not drink alcohol with Toprol xl.Toprol-xl is metoprolol and is a beta blocker used to treat hypertension and even in cases of migraine.Your BP as of now is fine but alcohol can act as a heart and brain stimulant and is better not used along with medicines of hypertension.There is no exact drug interaction with alcohol but better to avoid it.

hi welcome to HCM.dont drink alcohol while on this tablet as alcohol can increase some side effects of metaprolol.you should not stop taking tablet with out informing your physician as stopping of treatment may worsen your condition.you should be very careful while driving also ok.
