Can Weight Loss Supplements Be Taken While On Infliximab?

I am on infliximab (600 mg) every 8 weeks for Ulceratve Colities. I am considering taking a fat burning (appetite supresant) that contains Gynostemma pentaphyllum. I read this can decrease the effect of immunosurpressants like Remicade (infliximab). should I take the supplement?

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I have read and understood your concern.
There are many home measures that may help you cut down without drugs. You may only resort to drugs if these do not work for you and it should be under medical supervision.I will advise you try the following:
-Cut Back on Sugars and Starches
-Eat Protein, Fat and Vegetables
-Regular physical exercises
-Eat only when hungry
-Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice
-Eat soluble fiber
-Drink coffee or tea
-Eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods
-Use smaller plates
-Gest good sleep and avoid stress
If these do not work, you may see a Nutrition for further help. You may see your Doctor if all these do not help for weight loss pills and follow-up.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns.
Wish you good health
