Can Vyvanse Or Clonidine Cause Lupus Kind Of Malar Rash On Face?

My daughter has been taking vyvanse (70mg) for two years. Recently, she has had what looks to be a lupus kind of malar rash on her face -- bridge of her nose and cheeks. I am wondering if this could be a symptom induced by the vyvanse. She also has taken clonodine for 9 years. She is 14. Thanks.

Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It is really not common as a drug reaction. 14 is not that uncommon for the start of an autoimmune disease as a pure coincidence. Why someone is on clonidine at younger than age 15 I couldn't tell you.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
