Can Vomiting Be Side Effect Of Epileptic Medicines?

Hi, our son (26) is epileptic, and had his medication, and vomited about 5 mins later, and about an hour after that took his medication again. He is on 250g Epitec, 10mg urbanol, and topamax. Could this cause any side effects? He is well built and big in size.

Thank you!

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Yes, anti-epileptic medications can cause adverse effects such as nausea and vomiting.

Also, we need to check his liver and kidney function tests.

Please discuss these side effects with his neurologist.

As of now, for relief of symptoms, you can give him ondansetron tablets.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
