Can Umbilical Hernia With Divarication Be Treated By Surgery?

I had been getting stomach pain frequently. After examining, we came to know that I have got umbilical hernia measuring to 1.5 cm. I have been told that I have a problem divarication too. Doctor adviced me to go for surgery. After this, Will both the problems be solved? What is the percentage of reoccurrence in the open surgery?

Hello,

If go for the surgery for what the defect you have then recurrence chances is very minimal still depends upon how you take care of yourself in post-surgical phase and even in future, either it is the open surgery or laparoscopic procedure.

If it is the recurrence going to take place, then it would be same in both the open and laparoscopic procedure still you can discuss with the surgeon because operative procedure varies from surgeon to surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
