Can Umbilical Hernia Recur?

hi i am sukanya and my son is 7 yrs old he had his umblical hernia surgery before 4 yrs now suddenly i see black thread poping slightly his complainin of pain if i touch it is so sharp like needle is there any risk of reoccurin to the gap
his hernia was a big one 1.5 cm approx.should we take a scan

Scan is definitely not indicated(1.5 cm defect is not a big defect). A visit to your surgeon is definitely indicated: black thread is likely to be retained suture material of previous surgery.
