Can Typhoid Be A Symptom Of HIV?

Hi doctor,I am 26 years and 6 feet height ,suffering of chronic diarrhoea for more than a month and have done a stool test in which the result shows that i have typhoid.But i realy want to know if the stool test is ok for me becouse i am afraid it may be a symtom of HIV?

Hi, you have thyphoid its ok. But it does not mean that you dont have hiv. Because chronic diarrhoea may be seen in hiv.and if you have exposed to some risk factor like sexual contact or blood transfusion then its the chance and you may have hiv also.so you should go for confirmatory hiv testing once after a month of exposure. You can go with p24 antigen or pcr.
