Can Tooth Aches With Throbbing Be Due To Gum Infection?
Hi I have an awful ache on the whole of my upper right row of teeth, it's throbbing,my cheek is tender to touch, it hurts so much when a blow my nose the pressure hurts so bad, I went to an emergency dentist and she informed me my teeth looked healthy and that she could only guess it myt be a gum infection I started taking antibiotics yesterday afternoon alongside painkillers however I've been up all night and the pain is so bad. Is it something o worry about?

Yes gum infections are painful but not so that it causes cheek tenderness, if your teeth are healthy then it can be possible that you might having infection of sinus called as sinusitis.
Better that once you should visit a good dentist and get a full mouth x ray that is OPG done, it will show the area of infection.

It is very nice to know that you have started with antibiotics and pain killers.Please continue with that. It will definitely help you. Once the symptoms reduce then you can definitely approach your dentist and get an x ray done. This will explain you if any teeth is decayed or infected.in that case you can go for treatment.

Read your query, as you have throbing pain in tooth and gums this can be due to caries tooth may be root caries , interproximal caries that is not clinicaly visible or thobing pain can be due to gingival or periodontal inflamation may be due to subgingival deposition of calculus leads to formation of Periodontal Abscess .
I will suggest you to consult dentist and go for Oral examination and Investigations Iopa x ray of painful region of tooth and go for its treatment , in meantine do warm saline rinses , you can take antibiotic like Amoxicillin or Ofloxacine by consulting with your doctor , painkiller like Diclomol or Paintol for pain .

Actually the type of pain which you are mentioning that it is so severe that your cheek is also tender, gum infection does not cause this kind of pain, gum infection pain is dull in nature.
It can be possible that you might be having an abscess of tooth or sinus infection which is leading to this pain.
Better that once you should visit a good dentist and get an x - ray of full mouth done called OPG. As it will reveal the source of infection.
