Hi,

Noted a short history by a 61 year old who had sinusitis, Shingles on forehead, treated with antibiotics, medications as per the advise of a Doctor and you have hypertension hence wants to know whether tonsillitis can cause high blood pressure.
There are no such cases as that developed high blood pressure due to such diseases as you have mentioned so on.
Surely the stress and anxiety due to the long lasting effects such as pain and so on can raise the blood pressure or high doses of steroid taken for a long time with increased salt intake can possibly be a reason.
Cardiac check up and related investigations will give the better cause and best possible treatment for your high blood pressure.
Reduce the stress and anxiety as is common at this turning point of age of 61.
Reduce salt intake

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
