Can Thyroidectomy Cause Swollen And Painful Chin?

My daughter received thyroidectomy Aug 2010. She is now going hypo for an upcoming blood test and has 2 weeks still to go. All of a sudden, under chin is very swolen and painful. We are waiting for a call from the endo right now. Is this a side effect of hypo? thank you

Hi,
Swelling in chin can be due to hypothyroidism. Pain is unusual. Your symptoms may be due to enlarged lymph doses which could be due to some infection in scalp or mouth like dental caries.
