Can Thyroid Medication Or Supplements Cause Increased Heart Rate?

I am a very healthy 35 year old. I exercise every day. I take armour thyroid medication, 2 grains in the a.m. 1 grain at noon. I weigh 125 pounds, I work out about 45 minutes - an hour every day, I take vitamins and supplements: green tea, Ltyrosine, multiBcomplex, multivitamin, adrenal support complex, Vitamin C...over at least the past 6 months I have monitored my heart rate running 105-115 at rest at all times. I am never in any discomfort. However, for the past few days, I have been feeling a little discomfort so I stopped my thyroid meds, feeling maybe I became hyperthryoid (2 days no with no Armour, no change, today no Ltyrosine, no change) and I have decided to cut out all vitamins and supplements. I know that my heart rate was not always this high and am assuming either thyroid or supplements, but should I be super concerned? I know anything over 100 is considered high. My BP is usually low 100/60 ish...Thanks.

I have gone through your question. You have done the right thing by

stopping the thyroid medicines temporarily. yes excess thyroid causes

increased heart rates (Tachycardia). Same is the case with adrenal support

complex. Tachycardia for prolonged periods is not good for heart. If

tachycardia persists inspite of stopping all the drugs ... then you probably

need to be put on beta blockers. but get you ECG done ... to rule out any

abnormal rhythm.

Hope to have been helpful!
