Can The Trigeminal Nerve Cause Severe Headache?

I have headaches and would like to figure out exactly what type they are. I am currently being treated as if they are migraines. However, it is not helping. I go in streaks where I am down for at least a week straight, and can't keep this up...it's affecting my job and everyday life. I would like to know how/if the trigeminal nerve may be the cause.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

No trigeminal nerve does not supply head therefore any problem in trigeminal nerve should not cause headache. Trigeminal nerve gives pain supply to face on one side. Therefore pain in head as you mentioned should be migraine, sinusitis, meningitis, cluster headache, stress related headache or any other related problem.
However unilateral pain in head below hairline or frontal part of head could be because of trigeminal nerve problem such as neuralgia. Trigeminal neuralgia causes spontaneous or shooting pain that occurs for few seconds on one side of face. This differs than the pain you mentioned.
