Can The Medicine, Amlodipine, Be Taken When Suspecting Pressure Drop In Legs?
My Doctor stopped my 50mg Antenolol tablets due to a suspected loss of blood pressure in my right leg. Another Doctor has now put me on 10mg Amlodipine as my blood pressure is now 189 over 113.
Is it safe to take these tablets given I still have discomfort in my right calf and have diffulculty walking any distances over 1/2 mile.
Amlodipine is a good antihypertensive and youbcan take that with this much bp. But you mentioned that you are having a low bp in leg and severe pain in leg, it point towards a possible peripheral occlusive vascular disease. In that case atenolol ( beta blocker group of drugs) should not be taken. So I suggest you to consult a physician band get invesigated for POVD ( he will advice a Doppler ultrasound of leg vessels)
Thank you
