Can The Elevated Liver Enzymes Be Lowered With Diet?
My daughter had her liver tested & can back slightly high enzyme. She has pcos & they wanted to put her on a type diabetic medicine. They want to check it in a month. They said it wasn t bad but can t put her on the diabetic medicine right now. Can the levels b lowered with diet?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is characterised by hormonal disturbances like high estrogen, high testosterone, high LH/FSH ratio, high glucose, deranged lipid profile and high insulin levels. Since, the fasting blood glucose level is elevated a diabetic diet is recommended. Elevated liver enzymes can occur in number of conditions like liver infection, alcohol consumption, drugs, toxins etc. Thus, these possibilities have to be ruled out to find the cause of elevated liver enzymes. You need to consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment and thus management.
